The sensor has a LED (4) for emitting infrared light on an inner side of a windscreen (1). A light receiver detects the light that is reflected from the inner side of the windscreen. The light receiver is arranged behind of a black impression (2) of the windscreen, and is designed by a photodiode (6). A band-elimination filter is arranged for visible light, where the light emitter and the light receiver are arranged on a common circuit board (7).
