The plug unit has multiple contact pins (14) arranged in a guide region (16) and serving an electrical connection. A recess (26) is arranged in a carrier (12), where the recess is formed as an elongated channel. The recess extends from a side of the carrier to an opposite side of the carrier. The recess extends as straight line in a plan view, where the carrier is formed partially from a glass fiber material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electrical plug connection comprising an electrical plug unit (2) a method for improving a deflection capability of a contact pin.
