Damping device for damping frequency-variable pulsations in a hydraulic pipe has branch resonator with branch pipe whose length is variably adjusted in dependence on frequency of pulsations to be damped
The damping device comprises at least one branch resonator with at least one branch pipe (4,8) wherein the length of the latter is can be variably adjusted in dependence on the frequency of the pulsations which are to be damped. The branch pipe opens into a volume (14) filled with hydraulic fluid in order to form a Helmholtz resonator. Independent claim describes method for damping pulsations in a hydraulic pipe wherein a damping device mounted on the pipe has at least one branch resonator such as a Helmholtz resonator whereby the length of a branch pipe of the branch resonator is changed in dependence on the frequency of the pulsations being damped.
