The container has a base body (3) that comprises an inner wall (5) and an outer wall (12). A multifunctional coating is provided on a part of the inner wall. The multifunctional coating comprises a layer for interacting material properties of a non-ferrous metal e.g. liquid silicon. Another layer that is different from the former layer is arranged in the coating for interacting another material property of the non-ferrous metal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a container (2) an application of the container for intake of liquid silicon.
