The head restraint (1) has two head restraint bars (2, 2') with an elevation adjustment provided relative to the bars. A lockable head restraint body (3), a carrier (5), a locking element (11) are linked and movably secured, at the carrier. The locking element cooperates with a bolting section (13) and the head restraint bar. The locking element is tiltable around an axis (A) and connected to a carrier. The head restraint bars are adjusted for tolerances and or errors. The axis runs horizontal and parallel to one of the two head restraint bars.
