Rack and pinion steering for motor vehicle, has ball thread device with steering nut that has thread pitch designed such that radial clearance of balls of ball drive increases from axial middle region to axial ends of nut
The steering has an electric motor (1) transferring a steering supporting force to a rack and pinion (4) for moving vehicle wheels by a ball thread device (3). The ball thread device has a steering nut (9) and a threaded spindle that engages thread pitches (9a, 10a) over balls (11) of a ball drive. The thread pitch (9a) of the steering nut is designed in such a manner that the radial clearance of the balls increases from an axial middle region (12) to axial ends (13) of the steering nut.
