The method involves determining a test result (34), where the test result has a value, in the case of an affected method-execution, which is different from the one obtained in the method-execution that is not affected. The test result assumes a result (24) of the affected method-execution while determining the result in such a manner that the result is incorrect when the rest result points to the affected method-execution. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product including a program instruction for a cryptographic method (2) a portable data storage medium e.g. smart card and chip module, for executing a cryptographic method.
