The vehicle (1) has a temperature sensor for measuring ambient temperature of a motor vehicle. A wading recognition module is provided for outputting a wading message or warning, when the change of the ambient temperature measured by the sensor exceeds a threshold value, which lies between 0.5 kelvin/second and five degree kelvin/second. A switch-in and switch-off device is provided for actuating function of the motor vehicle. A device control is provided for switching off the device during warning.
