The device has spray nozzles (12) spraying a powder-air-mixture (14) and arranged transverse to a transfer direction of an elbow (18) or a continuous web (20). The powder density is increased in a boundary region of elbow or the web as the nozzles are inclined in the boundary region, where the nozzle arranged at the side boundary region is inclined in the direction of a middle area of the elbow or the web. An independent claim is also included for a method of spraying powder on printed elbow or a continuous web.
