Equipment for plasma powder spraying of metallic components by conversion of a plasma cutting unit with removal of the original cutting nozzle and cap and substitution of a powder spray nozzle having a shorter plasma gas constriction nozzle (5) with enlarged outlet bore and similar internal profile in a nozzle cap (6) with modified external profile, connectable to the burner body with the appropriate cathode-anode gap. Equal-spaced powder channels (9) are formed in the outer surface of the lower truncated conical part of the replacement nozzle cap (6), running out close to the nozzle cap bore (14) level with the outlet of plasma gas nozzle (5). A powder guide cap (2) fits closely over the conical surface of the nozzle cap (6), sealing the powder channels (9) and forming a communicating annular powder distribution gap at the upper cylindrical part. An inert gas cap (3) is attached over powder guide cap (2) by a threaded connection, with the opposite conical surfaces of equal angle forming an annulus for the inert gas shield. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides a means of converting commercial plasma cutting equipment for plasma powder spraying without extension of the existing cooling system and which can be operated with or without a pilot arc.
