The method involves providing a remote control with a separate current supply, and an electric motor that is connected with a control- and regulation circuit having a memory and a radio receiver (1). A programmable learning program is stored in the memory in addition to sequential programs and/or parameters, where starting of a lift or crane is automatically carried out by the learning program in a self-learning manner. An independent claim is also included for a device for wireless starting of a lift e.g. stair lift, or crane.
