The device has a cradle mounted at a guide rail that is situated at the lower surface of a structure, where the cradle has a working platform (4) and two platform surfaces (10, 11). The platform surfaces are spaced perpendicular to the guide rail from each other such that an intermediate space (14) is retained between the platform surfaces. The platform surfaces have a set of movable sliding units (12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20), where the intermediate space is spanned with the sliding units. An independent claim is also included for a method for scaffolding a structure section with a cradle.
