The device includes a layer forming unit provided to form a layer of fluid or resin layer (10) on the target surface (9). A smoothing roller (13) is used for smoothing the formed fluid layer or resin layer. An exposure unit (6) is provided to exposure a selected part of the fluid layer or resin layer using UV rays in linear exposure process. A lowering mechanism is arranged to lower the target surface. An independent claim is included for the layer assembly production of three-dimensional articles.
