The method involves shifting of load-change-point by target-torque. The shifting is done by using a positive torque of the engine (2) before realization of the load change partially or completely for the undertaking of a speed increase conditioned by the shift-in. The load change occurs when the torque of the engine corresponds to the target-torque. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle.
