The injector has a directly actuatable injection valve unit (11) with a nozzle needle (13), and coupler pistons (22, 23) connected with a piezo actuator (20) and the nozzle needle, respectively. A sliding sleeve (30) is guided and axially displaceable at the nozzle needle-sided coupler piston (23). The sliding sleeve (30) separates a high-pressure chamber (17) subjected with high pressure from a nozzle needle-pressure chamber (16) using a sealing seat (28).
