The injector has an injection valve unit (32) for releasing or locking an injection opening (59). A piezo-actuator (31) operates on a control piston (33), which is guided into a cylinder case (34) so that the control piston and the cylinder case enclose an injector control chamber (38). The injection valve unit is hydraulically controlled by the injector control chamber. The injection valve unit is opened during actuation of the piezo-actuator. A cushioning disc (42) is arranged between a lower casing (55) and an upper casing (41).
