Electrical connector (1) comprises a metal housing (3) having a first wall (5) lying opposite a second wall (9) and running parallel to the sliding movement relative to a contact pin (21). Both walls have side walls which are connected together. A fixed contact site (7) protruding inward is arranged on the first wall and the second wall is arranged next to a spring (15) which slides parallel to the sliding movement. The spring has a pressing surface for the contact pin. A space is formed between the fixed contact site and the pressing surface to allow frictionless sliding of the contact pin.
