The system has a spindle shaft (1) rotatably supported in a spindle housing (2), and electrically contacted with the spindle housing and/or earthing by a sliding contact device (3). The device has a carbon brush (4), which forms a sliding tap with a sliding contact region on the shaft or with a component rotatable with the shaft. The brush is held by a screw element (5), which is screwed into the housing to allow radial lining of the brush against the shaft. The brush is formed as a brush seal.
