The examination and diagnostic system has a medical instrument such as catheters [2a,2b] inserted into a patient [U] and is observed using an X ray system [3]. A contrast fluid is provided by an injection unit [4]. A monitoring system [6] measures various body parameters. The localisation of the instrument that has markers [7a,7b] is made using an image subtraction process .
