The device has detection units (1-3) detecting vehicle driving data and an on-line evaluation module (4) for processing the vehicle driving data. Output devices (5, 6) are provided for displaying information to a driver based on the detected data. The evaluation unit is formed to determine a traffic risk potential based on the detected data by an evaluation rule, where the driver is informed about the traffic risk potential. The evaluation unit adjusts the evaluation rule to an actual traffic condition and detects the movement of operating units. An independent claim is also included for a method of providing information about vehicle driving.
