The system has stations located in different places and communicated with one another over wires and/or in a wireless manner. The stations are provided with units such as loudspeakers, displays, lamps and/or flashlights for acoustically or visually alarming persons. The stations transmit alarms by the units based on the position of the stations and specific emergency situations. A control center communicates with the stations over the wires or in a wireless manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for alarming persons using a warning system.
