The system has a dual-circuit main brake cylinder (1) for attaching two brake circuits (I, II) that are hydraulically separated from each other. Wheel brake cylinders (3) connect vehicle wheels of an axle to the two brake circuits that exhibit a hydraulically different structure. Each brake circuit has a hydro pump (4), and is connected with a brake pressure build-up valve (6) and a brake pressure lowering valve (7) for each wheel brake cylinder.
