The device has windscreen wipers (5, 6) for wiping a windscreen (1), and a control device (3) for detecting an actuating signal (8) of a driver for activating the wipers. The wipers are activatable by the control device depending on the actuating signal for a preset time interval. A sensor device (7) detects temperature at the windscreen and provides a sensor signal, when the temperature is below 4 degree Celsius. The control device is designed to reactivate the wipers after interruption time for another time internal based on the sensor signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle with a windscreen wiper device (2) a method for wiping a windscreen of a motor vehicle.
