Method for connecting flange-exhibiting channel-modules or segments of different cross-sections, which are made of thin sheet metal of steel, aluminum or copper or their alloys or made of plastic or the like and which are exposed to exhaust gases, vapors and condensates. The channel-modules or segments are held together by means of screw and/or clamp. A two component adhesive on reaction adhesive basis is used for the liquid- and gas-sealable connection of the individual flanges of the channel-modules or segments, where the adhesive is only point-wise fixed by the screw- and/or clamp. An independent claim is included for an arrangement for connecting flange-exhibiting channel-modules or -segments of different cross-sections with screwing- and/or clamping means, which are arranged at the flanges and which pressingly hold the joint areas of the flanges (3, 4) together, where the joint areas of the adjoining flanges are material-conclusively connected with one another by a laminar adhesive applied on the joint areas, and for additional stabilization of the adhesive bonding, at least two screwing- and/or clamping means that are arranged equally separated from one another at the perimeter of the flanges, are intended.
