The suction nozzles (3) for removing waste yarn during an end break are connected through a duct (2) and filter (5) to a fan (6). The outlet duct (9) from the fan is fitted with a throttle (10) to adjust the airflow for different lengths of machine. The throttle restriction can be formed by a hinged flap (11), a manual slide or a slide operated by an actuator controlled by a pressure sensor.
