A device to passivate at least one component (20) comprises a housing where a cover (50) is connected to the front side (41) of a carrier substrate (40) in a connection region (42) to form an inner space. There is at least one electrically conductive lead to the component that is electrically isolated from the connection region and near at least one part of the connection region between the front side and a back side of the substrate or on the back of the carrier substrate. An independent claim is also included for a method of producing the above.
