The terminal (MMT) has two communication interfaces for communication with a communication system (KS). A transport protocol module transmits user data between the terminal and the system by one of the interfaces. A communication module (KM) is arranged between the protocol module and the interfaces. The module (KM) is designed in such a manner that an active session connection that is made between the terminal and the system by one of the interfaces is provided as the active session connection between the terminal and the system by the other interface, without interruption of the connection. An independent claim is also included for a method for data transfer between a communication terminal and a communication system in a data network.
