The scales (1) has a display (9), at least one operating button (11-14), a digital signal processor and a digital interface for connection to an electrical digital processor system.. The signal processor has actuable switches or programs to cause locking. These only enable display of the weighing results as long as the processor system is in communication with the scales. The rest of the time display of the weight is prevented. Activation of this switch or program is stored in a memory which is secured against power failure.
