A housing for an electromagnetic radiation-emitting optoelectronic component is specified. The housing has a basic housing body with a recess in which at least one chip mounting surface is arranged. At least one outer surface of the basic housing body, which is arranged on a radiation side of the housing and adjoins the recess, is provided with a shielding layer which is suitable for shielding an electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic radiation-emitting component with such a housing and a method for producing a corresponding housing or component are also specified.
