The weldable main body (2), made of aluminum, has a nut (5) made of stainless steel pressed into its central recess (6). A new feature is the cover (3) made of aluminum, which is fitted to one side of the main body and lies opposite the material with which the weld-on nut is to be welded. The nut is square. The cover includes an opening (4) which continues away from the nut thread (7) for a corresponding screw (20). The main body height exceeds that of the recess (6). An independent claim is included for the method of manufacture.
