An achromatic reflecting micro-structure takes the form of a mosaic (22) made from achromatic reflecting mosaic elements (26-1,26-2), which are characterized by parameters like size, outline shape, relief shape, reflecting capability and three-dimensional orientation and form a predefined motif. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) A method for producing a security element; (2) A data carrier, especially a valuable document like a bank-note, an identity card, etc.
