The method involves providing an interface, and connecting a display with a control unit by the interface. The control unit controls the display by control signals, where information signals are transmitted from the display to the control unit by the interface. The unit regulates the controlling of the display based on received information signals. The unit switches the display in two or three dimensional operational mode. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an interface for application in a method for controlling a display (2) a display for a three-dimensional representation of image contents and texts.
