Determining acetate content in a sample, comprises contacting a sample with test strip comprising e.g. tetrazolium salt, incubating the test strip, contacting test strip with phenazine methosulfate reagent and observing color change
Method for determining acetate content in a sample, comprises: (a) providing a sample; (b) diluting and adjusting the pH of the diluted sample with a buffer comprising malic acid; (c) contacting the sample with a test strip comprising tetrazolium salt, ATP, coenzyme A, NAD, malate dehydrogenase, citrate synthase or acetyl coenzyme A synthetase; (d) incubating the test strip; (e) contacting the test strip with a liquid reagent containing phenazine methosulfate or its derivatives; (f) incubating the test strip; and (g) determining the acetate content on the basis of the color development. An independent claim is included for a test kit for the determination of acetate content in a sample, comprising at least a buffer solution, which contains at least a buffer substance and malic acid, for diluting the sample and for adjusting the pH value; a test strip, which contains at least a tetrazolium salt, ATP, coenzyme A, NAD, malate dehydrogenase, citrate synthase or acetyl coenzyme A synthetase; and a liquid reagent composition, which contains at least a phenazine methosulfate or its derivative.
