A multimedia playback control module (2) has another CPU (21), and a multimedia activation and playing system memory (28) is connected to the CPU (21). A multimedia playback buffer (29) and hotkeys (24 - 27) are connected to the CPU (21). The CPU (21) loads and executes core program (282) from the memory into the buffer, and loads and executes a driver unit (283) and an application (284) of a multimedia player for executing the hotkeys, when the CPU (21) realizes actuation of the hotkeys. An independent claim is also included for a method for rapid activation of multimedia playback functions for a dual-CPU multimedia system.
