A process is described for non-destructive testing of an at least one acoustically anisotropic area of the test specimen having by means of ultrasound.The present invention is characterized by the following method steps:a) determining or providing of the acoustically anisotropic area of the described direction specific sound propagation characteristics,b) coupling of ultrasonic waves in the acoustically anisotropic area of the material of the test specimen,c) from received in the interior of the test specimen reflected ultrasonic waves having a plurality of ultrasonic transducers,d) to evaluate signals generated by means of the plurality of ultrasonic transducers ultrasonic signals, in such a way that the evaluation selectively on the basis of the direction specific sound propagation characteristics takes place.
