The device has a material web-transportation device (14) coupled with a control device in such a manner that a material web is movable in a material web running direction (25) by using the transportation device for stamping process. The transportation device is controlled in such a manner that a stamping section (45) for a predetermined stamping time period is held in an area of a stamping device (6). The stamping section is removed from the area of the stamping device after the stamping process, where a next stamping section of the stamping device to be processed is conveyed. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for stamping of stamping goods.
