The device (4) has central transistor (M1) with a load path, a measuring transistor (M2) with a load path and a resistance (Rsense), which is connected in series with the load path of measuring transistor. A current, which flows through the load path of measuring transistor, is a measure for a current (Iload) flowing through the load path of central transistor. A detector (ZVCD) for detection of the current flowing through the load path of central transistor by measuring voltage gradient (Vs) over the resistance. An independent claim is also included for a method for detection of flowing current by central transistor.
