A method for data transmission using at least one central computer, in which each subscriber is assigned a local computer in at least one of which are ascertained transport process-relevant data, with data transmission made direct, automated and bidirectional between each subscriber (10,11,13,14; 20,21,23,24; 30,33,34) and the central computer (50). During ascertaining the data in the local computer a comparison of this data is made with the central computer (50) for making set statements available. An independent claim is given for a communication arrangement for carrying out the method.
