The device has a superposition gear (7) with gear inputs (10, 15) connected with a controllable adjusting unit (8) and a steering wheel of a steering system, respectively. A gear output (16) is provided for connection with a steering gear. The gear (7) is designed as a single-stage worm wheel gear with a worm shaft (48) to drive a worm wheel (45). The gear is pivotably supported against the wheel in an area of worm shaft ends and is pulled or pressed on the wheel at other ends by a clamping part of a clamping device. The unit (8) is arranged at a mounting part (50) of the gear (7).
