Claimed is a casting mold (4) and assembly to cast an alloy that is a combination of copper, tin and lead, especially to cast drinking water valve housing and fittings. The mold inner surface has a thermal insulating lining that impedes the solidification of molten metal during the discharge of molten metal into the mold.
