The method involves temporarily storing a data set with information units for describing a standard permissibility of a trip with a transport unit, in a ticket carrier medium (1). The data set is checked against data values of electronic tickets in a processor of the medium. A request for generation of a register data set is transferred from the medium to a transmitting/receiving device. The register data set is produced with a trip identifier and a data element for recognizing tariff conditions that are to be applied on the ticket, in a vehicle on-board computer assigned to a transport unit.
