The body has a radiation-emitting front side (5) with a semiconductor layer series (1) having an active layer (2) that is suitable to produce electromagnetic radiation. A carrier unit (10) connected with the series supports the series. A structured layer (6) between the layer (2) and the unit is structured with respect to a laterally varying dielectric function. Another structured layer on the front side is structured with respect to another laterally varying dielectric function. The dimensions of variation of the functions are less than or equal to wavelength of radiation emitted by the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an optoelectronic semiconductor body.
