The arrangement has a rectifier cascade (1) with a rectifier (6) at a side of a three-phase induction machine and a self-commutated inverter (10) at a side of a network. The rectifier and the inverter are connected by a voltage intermediate circuit (8). A transformer e.g. three-coil transformer, is connected with the inverter for feeding the energy back into the network. The rectifier has insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) (T1-T6), which serve as switching-on and switching-off power semiconductor switches.
