The system has an engine cooling circuit (11) for adjusting a volume flow distribution of a coolant on an engine (12) and an engine cooler (16) when the coolant is circulated in the system. A flowable component (21) is provided with differential pressure-dependent flow resistance in the engine cooling circuit. The component (21) with differential pressure-dependent flow resistance is arranged in a bypass line of the engine cooling circuit, where the bypass line connects a coolant supply line (22), a coolant return pipe (23) and a heater return pipe (27). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a flowable component with differential pressure-dependent flow resistance for use in a cooling system of a vehicle (2) a method for operating a cooling system for a vehicle.
