The device has a static frequency converter (2) supplied with electrical energy by a supply voltage, and for controlling a motor (3). The motor has a shaft that is supported by a magnetic bearing (5). A transformer (7) is connected with a rectifier (8) and the motor. The rectifier supplies the electrical energy to an electrical intermediate circuit (11) of another static frequency converter (14) during the failure of power supply. The rectifier controls the magnetic bearing.
