The invention relates to a method for producing wood-based materials with reduced emissions of volatile organic compounds (volaltile organic compounds (VOC)). Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for reducing the release of volatile organic compounds from lignocelluloses and comminution products of the lignocelluloses, such as wood chips, wood beaches, wood fibers and wood veneers and wood-based materials produced therefrom. Finally, the present invention relates to the use of certain additives in wood-based materials or in processes for producing these wood-based materials.
