The unit has a housing (1) in which channels (2, 3), which are streamed by respective fluids that are to be cooled, are arranged, where a third channel (4) streamed by a cooling unit is arranged in the housing. A by-pass channel (5) for the fluid that is to be cooled is arranged in the housing. One of the channels is by-passed by the by-pass channel. The fluid mass flow into the by-pass channel and the channel (2) is controlled by a control device.
