The apparatus has a metallic edge frame unit (6) sandwiching a liquid crystal panel with a frame (1) having a flange (12). Mounting pieces have screw insertion and screw holes which are provided on sides of the frame unit. The pieces are fastened to the flange with headed screws (10) which are inserted via through-holes of the flange and the screw and screw insertion holes to form an earth conductive path, where static electricity flows to the frame unit, and is released to a metallic backboard unit (8) via the path. The path makes the frame unit electrically conductive to the backboard unit.
