The method involves calculating initial inflated pressure on the basis of continuous blood pressure value. Oscillometric impulse of blood pressure wrist band (12) is monitored, when the wrist band blood pressure ceases starting from a target inflated pressure to final pressure. Systolic pressure of middle arterial pressure and diastolic pressure are calculated and displayed on the basis of the oscillometric impulse. The target inflated pressure is specified little above the systolic pressure. An independent claim is also included for a system for monitoring blood pressure of a patient.
