The method involves identifying a seed point associated with a radiographic image, where the image includes an organ of sight e.g. human`s eyeball. The seed point is positioned to correspond to an interior region of the organ of sight. The organ of sight is segmented based on the seed point. The segmenting of the organ of sight comprises identifying a center point of the eyeball, positioning a shape at the center point, and adjusting the shape based on grayscale values in the eyeball. Data corresponding to a region of the shape is processed to form processed data. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer-readable storage medium including a set of instructions for a computer to perform a method for segmenting a biological structure (2) a system for performing an automatic segmentation of organs of sight comprising a processor.
